It's a Beta is the second episode of the fourth season of Arby 'n' the Chief.
Summary[]
The Arbiter arranges to provide technical feedback for the Halo: Reach beta on the Bungie forums and discuss it among peers-- that is, if he can pry Master Chief from playing the beta.
Plot[]
The episode starts of with Chief as usual, annoying other players while playing Halo. In this instance he is using the new feature of the Reach beta; armor lock. He continuously spams it on other players who seem to be quite annoyed with Chief. We then see that Arbiter is writing online about how he is going to play the beta and report any feedback or tips to Bungie. Arbiter then tries to go over to the Xbox 360 and play the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta, but Chief refuses to let him. Arbiter then tickles Chief to get his way, as Chief is very ticklish. Chief then starts "teaching" Arbiter the new controls, and according to Chief the only buttons necessary to use are the armor lock and shooting buttons. Arbiter then reminisces on how he is happy to be playing with the Halo community again. We then hear what seems to be a bunch of Call of Duty fanboys over the mic inquiring about how much Halo sucks and making homophobic slurs. After barely a minute Chief then tries to regain the controller and continue playing the beta. Arbiter quickly delays Chief by telling him that if he is a true fan he should help Bungie by telling them some of the issues he's found. Chief then writes to Bungie about how they should fix the "Battle Rifle" (it's really the DMR), and make armor lock last longer. Chief then steals back the controller. Arbiter then finds out that Chief typed and posted his horrible grammar-produced and generally stupid sounding post under Arbiter's forum account. Arbiter then panics as Chief explains how it's very bad for a finished game and how he is "DISAPPOINT". Arbiter once again tells him, "It's a Beta!".
