It's a Beta
Master Chief and the Arbiter wait for the imminent release of the Halo: Reach beta. While the Arbiter is excited but perfectly willing to wait, Master Chief is not, and will take drastic measures to play it early.
It is the 2nd of May, and Chief is eagerly waiting for the release of the Halo: Reach multiplayer beta. Chief is very bored, and cannot find anything to pass the time. Arbiter is using a laptop. Trying to find ways to pass time, Chief asks Arbiter to check his e-mail to see if he got his code. Arbiter tells him that it would be easier to just play the beta through Halo 3: ODST. Chief looks at the ODST disk, wondering how it works. Arbiter decides to go to bed, not wanting to be awake when the beta is first released, predicting that hundreds of thousands of people are going to log in at the same time to play, and the servers are going to crash and everyone is going to freak out. He tells Chief how to play the beta and goes to bed. Chief, still wondering what to do, decides to see if he can play the beta now by doing some "disc burning".
In the morning, Arbiter wakes up and goes to try the Reach beta. He finds that the ODST disc won't read for some reason. Eventually he has a look at it, finding out that the back is covered in scratches. He calls Chief over, asking if he did it. Chief starts running with Arbiter going after him.
- This is the first episode since "Brawl" where only the Arbiter and Chief appear.
- This episode, as well as "It's a Beta" were first played at the CanWest 2010 convention before their airing on Machinima. They had no title introduction or credits at the time.
