Todd was one of the two supporting characters, alongside Travis in Season 2 of the Arby 'n' the Chief series. Todd was a small Master Chief action figure manufactured by McFarlane Toys, and named after the founder of the company, Todd McFarlane. Unlike Master Chief, Todd was a Halo 3 figurine, rather than a Halo 2 one.
Personality[]
Todd was shy, sensitive, and easy to frighten as shown when Chief faked being the real Master Chief in which Todd screamed like a girl and ran away. Other than that, he was a nice person to most people, except for Master Chief.
History[]
Season 2[]
In "Newcomers", Todd was delivered to Jon's apartment in package along with Travis. Master Chief, Cortana and Arbiter noticed the package, but decided not to open it. Todd and Travis first met the three the following morning at 3:43 AM. Todd became Cortana's boyfriend, which made Chief jealous and attempt to break them up. After numerous failed attempts, Chief attempted to murder Todd (and Travis) but was stopped by Arbiter and Cortana.
Disappearance and death[]
The day after Chief attempted to kill him, Travis mysteriously disappeared along with Todd. While the other toys wondered what happened to them (Arbiter and Cortana believing Chief had killed them), they never attempted to find them. In reality, they had been kidnapped by an alien named Zanthar, which also kidnapped Cortana later. Before they were kidnapped, Travis deleted the 'Cold Storage' map from Jon's Xbox in a weird bid to warn them of what happened, it didn't work and even Todd and Travis acknowledged it wouldn't have worked.
The alien allowed Todd and Travis to play one last game of Halo 3 before eating them alive. Coincidentally, in their last game, the two stumbled upon Chief and Arbiter, though for unknown reasons, didn't tell them who they were. Eventually, the match ended due to it turning into a free for all after the players finished debating over their media interests.
While Travis lamented about how deleting 'Cold Storage' hadn't worked to warn Chief and Arbiter, Todd broke the fourth wall by revealing that he was thinking about how if he and Travis being kidnapped by an alien was just "a scene in a fictional web series or something. This would be a really, really, really bad way of filling a plothole". Afterwards, Todd and Travis were raped and murdered by Zanthar whilst Cortana was jettisoned into a sun, as the aliens had no interest in females (though Cortana's fate was retconned).
Legacy[]
Years later in "Genesis", whilst Master Chief was drawing a penis on a wall, a drunk Arbiter goes on a rant about mortality and morality. After Arbiter argues with Chief about the drawing and his damaged relationship with Claire Ferguson, he laments on the friends they've lost, mentioning Greg the Spider first, then Cortana, before saying that he even missed Todd and Travis, causing Chief to walk out, sick of his constant drunken rants.
Reception[]
He along with Travis were met with mixed reception among fans. Later on, many people (including Jon) found them both to not be interesting enough for the series, and they were gotten rid of shortly after. Fans also considered Todd a waste of space due to rarely contributing anything productive to the series and getting very little screentime and lines in any episodes that he did appear in.
